Reinsurance Accountant Job Description

VIG Re, a leading reinsurance company, is seeking a detail-oriented Reinsurance Accountant to join its Finance Department in Prague. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for processing incoming/outgoing payments, booking/preparation of accounts in the system, and supporting the Reinsurance Accounting Team.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Identify and resolve payment discrepancies with external and group companies/brokers
  2. Ensure accurate payment matching within the system
  3. Generate payment order requests as needed
  4. Record and book accounts in the internal system
  5. Book statements of accounts and installments accurately
  6. Confirm open balances and send reminders for outstanding amounts
  7. Generate and manage the creation of debit notes
  8. Participate in the closing process and adhere to established controls
  9. Communicate effectively with external parties such as cedents and brokers
  10. Collaborate with internal teams including Business Services (BS), Claims, Underwriting (UW), and IT
Requirements:
  1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  2. Strong attention to detail
  3. Advanced Excel knowledge
  4. Very good English
  5. Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
