ROLE OVERVIEW
The incumbent will oversee all SURF engineering operations and technical aspects for the SURF package associated with the Venus initiative, as part of the GPI (''Groupe Projet Interne'') Venus team. Responsibilities encompass the review, approval, preparation, and management of all studies throughout the Pre-project and FEED, Call For Tender, and EPCI phases for flowlines, risers, umbilicals, and related structures and equipment, specifically for a deepwater oil greenfield project. The role involves leading a team of engineers in design, engineering, installation, and pre-commissioning activities, as well as preparing the technical components of the SURF CFT package. The position also requires collaboration with the Subsea Manager and the SURF team, along with interaction with other project teams (SPS, FPSO).

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Exhibit exemplary conduct regarding H3SE&Q, enforcing and managing H3SE standards and requirements within the designated area.
  2. Lead and coordinate the SURF engineering team throughout pre-Project, FEED, Call For Tender preparation, review, technical evaluation, contract finalization, and project execution.
  3. Ensure adherence to Company Rules and Specifications, Project requirements, and international standards for all engineering related to umbilicals, flowlines, risers, and associated components during all Project phases.
  4. Oversee all pre-Project and FEED engineering tasks and manage all contractor technical activities.
  5. Develop and present the SURF Call For Tender technical package for the SURF EPCI Contract.
  6. Review and validate SURF Tenderers' Technical offers against Project and Company standards, leading technical discussions with Tenderers.
  7. Define, create, issue, and maintain all essential technical documentation pertinent to the Project SURF package.
  8. Ensure comprehensive coverage of engineering, procurement, fabrication, construction, testing, qualification, pre-commissioning, and commissioning elements during various engineering phases.
  9. Collaborate with other package teams (FPSO, SPS, etc.) on interface issues with the assistance of Interface Managers and leads.
  10. Organize and take part in Project Reviews.
  11. Support the Subsea Manager in all aspects of the SURF related Call For Tender, project execution, and contract management.
  12. Collect 'lessons learned' and provide feedback to Client entities as necessary.
CONTEXT & ENVIRONMENT
This role is situated within the framework of the pre-Project, FEED, Call For Tender, and Project Execution Phase of a significant deepwater greenfield Project in Namibia. The Venus GPI comprises a multidisciplinary team that coordinates development studies managed by the Client OneTech on the Deep Water discoveries of offshore Namibia Block 2913B.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
  1. Master's degree in engineering with substantial experience in SURF equipment engineering.
  2. Minimum of 15 years in detailed engineering and execution phases related to SURF equipment.
  3. At least 10 years in large offshore oil & gas SURF projects.
  4. Strong knowledge of relevant codes and preferably familiarity with Client Specifications, procedures, and policies.
  5. Previous experience with Major SURF Contractors in a complex and multicultural working environment.
