ROLE OVERVIEW

As an Insurance Analytics Specialist, you will have the unique opportunity to shape the application of advanced machine learning technologies within the insurance sector and influence the product development trajectory of a leading insurtech firm.

This role involves collaboration with our Sales, Product, and R&D teams in various capacities.

In this position, you will serve as a subject matter expert, aiding the sales team in identifying optimal use cases for Akur8's software to deliver maximum value tailored to each client's specific business needs.

You will also collaborate with the Product team to propose new features that could enhance client experiences, and work alongside our R&D team to investigate novel applications of machine learning in the insurance domain.

Your role will include direct technical interactions with client representatives such as Heads of Pricing, Heads of Product, CTOs, Actuaries, and Data Scientists.

You will lead product demonstrations for diverse audiences and oversee Akur8's proof of concept initiatives in a consultancy capacity.

Beyond these technical client-facing duties, you will also influence the design of product training, enhance model development processes, and lead technical after-sales projects by providing modeling and actuarial support during client sessions.

Additionally, you will contribute to white papers and participate in or present at conferences to establish Akur8's leadership in various markets.

This position is based in our Paris office, with travel for business engagements expected (approximately one week per month).

CANDIDATE PROFILE

The ideal candidate must fulfill the following criteria:

  • A minimum of three years of experience in a Property & Casualty / General / Health insurance pricing role as a Pricing Actuary, Actuarial Consultant, or Data Scientist (note that while the role is highly technical, it does not involve coding, focusing instead on model development);
  • Ability to comprehend insurance business objectives and devise solutions accordingly;
  • A robust understanding of Data Science and Machine Learning methodologies for predictive modeling;
  • Experience in actuarial data-driven predictive modeling (GLMs / GAMs) and risk assessment within a Property & Casualty / General insurance pricing context;
  • Excellent communication skills to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences;
  • Willingness to travel as needed (approximately one week per month);
  • Native-level proficiency in French;
  • Fluency in English.

Note: Applicants must possess employment eligibility: French or Schengen area nationality or a 'carte de séjour' allowing work from our Paris office. We are open to visa sponsorship for non-EU candidates who have completed their final diploma or received their final academic results.
