About the Role
CIP is seeking a highly skilled Biotech Consultant to join our team. As a Biotech Consultant, you will play a key role in the development and implementation of molecular diagnostics for potato diseases.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement molecular diagnostics for potato diseases
- Characterize transgenic events using PCR, RTq-PCR, Southern blot, sequencing, and bioinformatics
- Validate event-specific detection in the field
- Perform bioassays using artificial infection of potato plants
- Conduct effector screening
Requirements
- BSc in Biology, Biotechnology, or related field
- Background in disease diagnostics
- At least one year of experience in tissue culture, preferably with roots, tubers, or bananas
- Advanced written and oral communication skills in English
