Job Description for Pastry Chef

Accor is seeking a skilled Pastry Chef to manage all day-to-day operations of the pastry and bakery section of the kitchen. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for preparing a wide variety of goods such as cakes, cookies, pies, bread etc. following traditional and modern recipes.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage Pastry and Bakery Operations: Oversee the preparation and presentation of all baked goods, including artisan breads and rolls, muffins, laminated Danish, laminated croissants, and doughnuts.
  • Develop New Recipes: Create new and exciting desserts to renew our hotel menus and engage the interest of customers.
  • Ensure Quality and Safety: Ensure excellent quality throughout the dessert offerings and follow proper handling and right temperature of all food products.
  • Lead the Pastry Team: Supervise and coordinate all pastry and dessert preparation and presentation, and coordinate activities of cooks and workers engaged in food preparation.
  • Maintain Cleanliness and Organization: Maintain cleanliness and organization in all work areas, and ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.

Requirements:
  • Language Skills: Good level of spoken English.
  • Leadership Skills: Works well under supervision with the ability to take direction, self-motivated, adaptable / flexible and a good communicator.
  • Culinary Skills: Quality focused, effective team worker, and HACCP.
