NES Fircroft is partnering with a major oil and gas client to deliver a key project in Paris. We are seeking a highly experienced Lead Civil Structural Engineer to join our team.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Ensure the issuance, review, and approval of technical documents related to civil discipline.
  2. Implement engineering specifications and provide quality assurance for the procurement of materials, equipment, and services.
  3. Ensure adherence to project HSE requirements and emphasize safety throughout civil design activities.
  4. Develop and implement a safety culture on the project, making safety a natural part of all work performed.
  5. Review deliverables for civil, with a focus on geotechnical and hydraulic engineering, detailed engineering works for undergrounds, roads, drainage systems, and concrete structures.
  6. Provide technical expertise support for construction material selection, testing, and approval.
  7. Interface with the contractor's civil engineering site team to ensure coordination of efforts and address necessary issues.
  8. Identify opportunities and risks for civil design-related operating issues and develop mitigations.
  9. Work with process safety to ensure all necessary safeguards and mitigations are in place for a safe working environment.
  10. Coordinate contractor planning and execution activities, with a focus on civil engineering, but with familiarity with multidisciplinary engineering execution and procurement.
  11. Assist the civil and structural lead in ensuring the civil discipline technical portions of the EPC contract are adhered to during execution.
  12. During site activities, respond quickly to site queries and unexpected technical site problems, oversee rectification of punch list items, and completion of on-site tests, and oversee the erection of all discipline-related equipment.
Context and Environment

The role will be based in Paris during the engineering phase, with the possibility of relocation to site during construction activities.

Accountabilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the implementation of proper design for civil structures, including drainage, culverts, roads, and underground networks.

Qualifications and Experience
  1. Degree in civil, hydraulic, or transportation engineering.
  2. Proficient in English language.
  3. Eight or more years' experience in design and execution of oil and gas or large infrastructure projects.
  4. Sound understanding of applicable regulatory requirements in international settings.
  5. Extensive knowledge of standard engineering methods, technologies, and computerized design techniques.
  6. Experience working in a project team of engineers and ability to function in both design and operational environments.
