The Role

Consider the various digital interactions you engage with daily—from the media you consume to the applications you utilize and the online shopping experiences you have. It is likely that each of these interactions has been influenced by an Adobe product.

We are excited to present an opportunity for a Software Engineer to contribute to our innovative team focused on enhancing our Substance 3D Automation APIs, which are essential components of our Substance suite. This position also offers the chance to work with advanced technologies (USD, MaterialX, Substance, OpenPBR), promoting innovation and efficiency in our industry-leading automation processes.

Responsibilities

As a member of our engineering team, you will be tasked with designing and developing a high-performance Python API for our 3D software solutions. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Implementing and maintaining robust and scalable API features while adhering to best practices in API design and development.
  • Contributing to multiple products within the organization and supporting the overall development and maintenance of our 3D software platform.
  • Staying informed about industry trends and technologies to ensure our tools remain powerful and user-friendly.
  • Participating in code reviews to promote improvements in code quality and development processes.

Qualifications

  • Proficient in Python and C++, with a strong emphasis on software engineering best practices.
  • A Bachelor's degree in computer science is preferred, or a minimum of 6 years of experience in Software Engineering.
  • Solid understanding of the 3D graphics pipeline, particularly with the Substance suite and Universal Scene Descriptor (USD).
  • Experience with build systems, preferably CMake, and familiarity with continuous integration and development (CI/CD) pipelines.
  • Exceptional problem-solving abilities and a keen eye for detail.
  • Familiarity with version control systems such as Git, along with experience in code review practices.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
