Position Overview:
The Research Fellow role at INRIA Lyon, supported by the PEPR Networks of the Future initiative, presents a remarkable opportunity for an individual to collaborate with the MARACAS team within the CITI Laboratory under the guidance of Dr. Malcolm Egan. This initiative emphasizes both theoretical and practical research in the realm of advanced communication networks, with a particular emphasis on task-oriented and semantic communication strategies designed for specific objectives. The chosen candidate will engage in the formulation and evaluation of coding methodologies that incorporate risk considerations, concentrating on performance assurances for tasks represented through data-driven optimization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conducting information-theoretic evaluations of source and channel coding under risk constraints.
- Creating algorithms for coding methodologies that account for risk factors.
- Performing simulation-based assessments of proposed algorithms against theoretical benchmarks.
Qualifications:
Applicants should possess relevant technical expertise and proficiency in applicable programming languages. Interpersonal skills and additional valued attributes will be considered advantageous.
