We are currently seeking a Software Support Engineer to join our team in Crolles, France, focusing on our PDC tools.

Key Responsibilities:

· Troubleshooting Software Systems – Engage in Microsoft/Networking/Applications troubleshooting (Analyze reported issues, validate solutions, and develop troubleshooting plans to identify root causes while ensuring rapid resolution of systemic problems).

· Investigate and resolve both internal and external application and system issues of moderate complexity. Independently learn and analyze high-value customer problems, systematic bugs, or software failures.

· Software Installation & Configuration – Install and configure software and images on ELS/NPI/FIF tools, document and execute first-of-a-kind installations on HVM tools, and develop training on software procedures.

· Software Testing & Validation – Collect and incorporate customer-specific test scenarios, construct simulators for testing and troubleshooting, and execute test plans to validate software releases.

· Create, test, and verify installation/upgrade instructions for product releases from Applied Materials.

· Participate in product design, testing, and documentation reviews as necessary, and engage in user conferences.

· Provide off-hours customer support via pager and cellular phone as scheduled, and ensure telephone coverage as needed.

· Attend training sessions for designated product lines and external classes for third-party software.

· Customer Engagement & Training – Build customer trust in Applied Materials software, consult on Factory Automation scenarios, and address inquiries regarding tool operations and settings.

· Deliver ongoing training to customers and customer engineers on technical products and system issues.

· Assist in analyzing customer operating system performance, integration, and database management issues, providing updates and reports to managers, partners, and peers.

· Mentor junior engineers in departmental and corporate procedures, as well as detailed product operations.

Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or Automation Engineering.
