Labor Management

• Assist in the preparation and submission of Employment Equity reports to the relevant authorities annually by the specified deadline.

• Lead and facilitate the Employment Equity committee.

• Organize and coordinate quarterly meetings related to Employment Equity.

• Document and distribute minutes from meetings.

• Ensure the effective use of the Employment Equity module on the payroll system.

Workplace Skills Planning and Training Reports

• Collaborate closely with the Training & Development Officer to:

• Assist in compiling and submitting online reports to the relevant training authority.

• Plan and organize training sessions.

• Manage the application process for Learnerships through the online submission system.

• Ensure the effective use of the Skills Development module on the payroll system.

Recruitment Process

• Oversee the entire recruitment process, including pre-employment checks.

• Coordinate interview scheduling.

• Conduct interviews and ensure job advertisements are placed in appropriate media.

• Ensure internal job postings are communicated effectively.

• Maintain a comprehensive database of applicants.

• Conduct reference and exit interviews.

Induction Process

• Maintain and implement the organizational induction process.

• Train staff on the induction process.

• Ensure all induction schedules are signed and returned.

BEE Compliance and Implementation

• Assist the National HR Manager in preparing the BEE verification audit file covering all elements of the scorecard.

• Actively engage in all aspects of the scorecard.

• Maintain a thorough understanding of current BEE legislation and requirements.

General Human Resources Responsibilities

• Draft appointment letters and job descriptions.

• Provide necessary counseling to staff as required.

• Ensure effective communication with employees.

• Monitor employee performance and provide mentoring when necessary.

• Contribute to the drafting of policies and procedures.

• Ensure compliance with company policies and prevailing legislation.

• Maintain a system for performance appraisals and ensure all staff receive them in accordance with company policy.

• Develop and maintain a succession plan for all departments.

• Participate in daily operations meetings.

• Stay updated on current labor legislation.

• Ensure all policies and procedures are authorized before distribution.

• Contribute content for the monthly newsletter and ensure timely distribution.

• Manage employee recognition programs, including the Employee of the Month.

• Assist in compiling monthly reports for senior management.

• Ensure timely submission of weekly HR reports.

• Conduct criminal background checks for new hires and existing employees every two years.

• Manage the Time & Attendance system and the on-site clinic.

• Implement wellness initiatives and arrange counseling for employees as needed.

Industrial Relations

• Address performance, grievance, and industrial relations issues professionally and in compliance with legal standards.

• Conduct investigations related to disciplinary matters.

• Prepare and issue disciplinary documentation as necessary.

• Facilitate disciplinary hearings and ensure all related documents are properly filed.

• Attend union meetings and manage absenteeism-related disciplinary actions.

Payroll Management

• Oversee payroll management to ensure accuracy and compliance with deadlines.

• Ensure timely distribution of payslips and maintain payroll-related filing.

• Prepare third-party payments and ensure timely submissions to finance.

• Archive files for terminated employees and maintain regular checks on employee files.

• Ensure submission of electronic UIF declarations and claims.

General Responsibilities

• Adhere to all safety rules and procedures.

• Ensure that all equipment and materials are maintained in a safe condition.

• Report any safety hazards during HSE meetings or risk assessments.

• Perform any other reasonable tasks as required by management.

Qualifications

• Grade 12.

• Diploma in HR Management.

• HR Degree is an advantage.

• Certificate in Industrial Relations is a plus.

• Valid driver's license and own vehicle.

Experience

• Minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar role.
