As a key member of the European Procurement Organization, you will play a crucial role in securing ArcelorMittal's supply chain by leveraging technical excellence to develop best Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) solutions. Your primary responsibility will be to negotiate purchases contracts for products and services for the group's mills worldwide, while providing efficient and reliable services to internal customers.
Main Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement procurement strategies to anticipate market evolutions and establish transformation programs.
- Handle the capex procurement process in coordination with the Project Manager, Lead Buyer, and team, from early definition of the purchasing strategy until completion of contract execution.
- Select appropriate vendors for the tendering process and ensure offer handling, technical evaluation, and shortlisting of the best offers in terms of equipment quality, availability, and TCO.
- Design and negotiate contracts aligned with General Conditions for Capital Purchases and ensure compliance with regulations and procurement process timelines.
- Lead final negotiations for optimized contracts that maximize purchasing performance and TCO.
- Obtain approval of negotiation results as per ArcelorMittal governance and report on projects under responsibility.
- Apply AMP Quality Management Policy and objectives in the area of responsibility and ensure synergies and bundles project negotiations with other Project Buyers or Procurement Managers.
- Perform cost analysis and benchmarks on projects to ensure submission of optimized solutions.
- Share knowledge and lessons learned with the team and coordinate buying activities with corporate Capex and EPCM.
- Coordinate the evaluation process of suppliers and report to Vendor Management.
Requirements:
- Master's degree in Engineering or Technical field (Mechanics, Electricity, or Civil works) or equivalent.
- Fluent in English and French.
- 3-5 years of experience in Purchases, preferably as Capex Buyer, or in Engineering or Site Operations/Maintenance.
- Keen commercial and legal sense, with high flexibility to adapt to different working scenarios.
- Dynamic, persistent, and able to work autonomously and take initiative.
- Good communication skills and proficiency in Office Databases (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and SAP.
- Strong interest in decarbonization topics.
