We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Naval Architect to join our team at Royal Caribbean Group. As a key member of our naval architecture team, you will play a critical role in the design and development of our ships, ensuring that they meet the highest standards of safety, efficiency, and passenger comfort.
Key Responsibilities- Naval Architecture and Design
- Develop and implement naval architecture designs for newbuild projects, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and refine design concepts, including ship layout, stability, and performance.
- Conduct feasibility studies and assessments to identify potential design issues and opportunities for improvement.
- Technology Development and Research
- Participate in the development of new technologies and innovations to improve ship design and performance.
- Collaborate with external partners and industry experts to stay up-to-date on the latest developments and trends in naval architecture.
- Conduct research and analysis to identify potential areas for improvement and develop recommendations for implementation.
- Project Management and Collaboration
- Lead and manage projects from concept to delivery, ensuring timely and within-budget completion.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including shipbuilding teams, to ensure seamless project execution.
- Develop and maintain relationships with external partners, including shipyards, classification societies, and regulatory bodies.
- Education and Experience
- M.Sc. in Naval Architecture or equivalent.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in naval architecture, with a focus on cruise shipbuilding.
- Skills and Qualifications
- Proficiency in Excel, MS Word, MS Project, and PowerPoint.
- Working knowledge of computer-aided design programs and analysis software.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Fluency in English, with additional languages an advantage.
The work environment for this role will be fast-paced and dynamic, with a focus on collaboration and innovation. You will be working closely with cross-functional teams to develop and implement new designs and technologies. The role will require occasional travel to shipyards, offices, and other locations, as well as the ability to work in a multicultural environment.
