Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clerk IV - Medical Clinic Administrative Lead to join our team at Southern Health-Santé Sud. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing leadership and administrative support to our medical clinic staff, ensuring the highest level of quality patient-centered care and service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the medical clinic team, promoting a positive and productive work environment.
  • Exercise independent judgment in determining work priorities, methods, and actions to ensure efficient and effective administrative support.
  • Collaborate with the Manager, Health Services - Primary Care, to develop and implement administrative policies and procedures.
  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of patient information, medical records, and other administrative tasks.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with patients, staff, and external partners to ensure seamless communication and collaboration.
  • Stay up-to-date with changing healthcare policies, procedures, and regulations, ensuring compliance and adherence to Southern Health-Santé Sud's standards.
Requirements
  • Proficiency in both official languages (English/French) is essential.
  • Grade XII education or equivalent is required.
  • Successful completion of a Medical Office Assistant course or equivalent is necessary.
  • Minimum two (2) years' experience in a medical clinic setting or equivalent health-related environment is required.
  • Minimum two (2) years supervisory experience in an administrative setting is necessary.
  • Demonstrated decision-making and problem-solving skills are essential.
  • Demonstrated ability to display independent judgment and prioritize tasks effectively is required.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain positive, respectful, and professional working relationships is necessary.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team as well as independently is required.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide a high level of attention to detail and accuracy is essential.
  • Demonstrated approachable and welcoming demeanor is necessary.
  • Demonstrated leadership, interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills are required.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills are necessary to relate to patients, staff, and external partners.
  • Ability to respect and promote a culturally diverse population is required.
  • Demonstrated ability to respect confidentiality, including paper, electronic formats, and other mediums, is necessary.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet the physical and mental demands of the job is required.
