About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Engagement Manager to join our team at AWS EMEA SARL (France Branch). As a Senior Engagement Manager, you will be responsible for leading the delivery of IT projects in a global enterprise environment, implementing project management best practices, and ensuring the successful execution of projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the delivery of IT projects in a global enterprise environment, ensuring the successful execution of projects.
  • Implement project management best practices, including Agile and Iterative development methodologies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand customer needs and develop solutions that meet their requirements.
  • Develop and manage project governance plans, project schedules, team goals, and budgets.
  • Ensure goal alignment across stakeholder groups, including customers, internal teams, and partners.
  • Apply judgement and tact to challenge, recommend, and redirect teams as well as manage client expectations during the engagement.
  • Develop and deliver communication tailored to the audience, ranging from executive level project updates to detailed sprint plans and financial reports.

Requirements
  • 7+ years experience leading the delivery of IT projects in a global enterprise environment.
  • 5+ years of experience implementing project management best practices and effective yet pragmatic ways across large, complex projects following documented methodologies such as Agile or Iterative development.
  • Understanding of cloud technology principles and services including infrastructure, business applications, data management, security, application platforms, and consumer-facing technology.
  • Experience with software development life cycle (SDLC).
  • Has at least one active project management certification (e.g., APM, CSM, CPO, PMI-PMP, PMI-ACP, PRINCE2).
  • AWS Experience and Certifications.
  • Must be able to represent AWS within the customer's environment and drive discussions with senior personnel regarding trade-offs, best practices, project management, and risk mitigation.
  • Understands the value proposition of the public cloud and has delivered cloud engagements (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS).
  • Has presented to C-level executives (CIO, CTO, CISO, etc.) as well as to technical subject matter experts.
  • Able to balance multiple internal and external stakeholders, and work with these teams to apply strategic thinking to execute.
  • Shareable experience managing one or more projects with a combination of 10+ resources, 6+ months, or $250k+ in contract value.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop relationships with all levels of stakeholders.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with team members and audiences of all levels.
  • Excellent presenter and communicator in both oral and written form in one-to-one and one-to-many forums.
  • Understands technology principles and services including infrastructure, business applications, data management, security, application platforms, and consumer-facing technology.
  • Proven success working with teams and executive leadership in a complex enterprise environment as a project manager or program manager.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand the operating styles of others as well as team/client relationships, team dynamics, and adjusts behavior accordingly to succeed.
