Global Forwarding Agent

C.H. Robinson is seeking a skilled Global Forwarding Agent to join our Global Forwarding division in Lyon.

This key position involves managing and operating the shipment lifecycle for assigned accounts, ensuring customer requirements are met and responded to accurately and timely. The successful candidate will be responsible for executing and overseeing tasks for each shipment, as well as daily communication, reporting, and email management.

As a Global Forwarding Agent, you will assume ownership of your accounts' success and engage with peers on-site three days a week, fostering creativity and driving impactful results. With the flexibility for remote work two days a week, this role strikes the perfect balance between teamwork and autonomy.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Understand international shipping processes, documentation, and terminology
  • Input financial components for accurate customer billing
  • Execute shipment tasks per customer SOP requirements
  • Create, update, and maintain accurate shipment data in Navisphere
  • Provide pricing quotes based on customer and network needs
  • Offer track and trace services and generate shipment documents
  • Ensure high data integrity: shipment details, INCOterms, routing, dates, documents
  • Build strong customer relationships; respond and follow up on issues promptly
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with Customers/Agents, CHR offices, and Vendors
  • Foster positive working relationships with team members and participate in new customer implementations and business meetings as needed
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED in Supply Chain, Logistics, or International Business
  • Minimum 1 year of Global Forwarding experience
  • Fluent in French and English (written and verbal)
  • Knowledge and experience with customs procedures and formalities (customs clearance, bonded transports)
