About Your RoleWe are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead our Data, Software, and DevOps team. The successful candidate will oversee the development of our python scientific engines, ensuring they meet business use cases and internal standards.
The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent communication skills, and experience in managing junior developers. They will work closely with underwriting and R&D managers to set technical direction and goals.
The role involves:
- Providing technical direction for the engineering team
- Ensuring compliance to internal standards and practices
- Presenting progress and goals
- Contributing to the technical roadmap
- Leading and coaching junior developers
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Developing, optimizing, and updating software for risk models, data collection, and visualization
- Testing and validation of existing solutions
- Monitoring contracts and associated data
- Supporting, testing, and correcting tools for CD/CI, data storage, version management, and modularization
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- ~3 years of managing experience or project management
- ~5 years of experience as a software engineer or data scientist
- Solid knowledge in Python
- Master's degree in computer science, mathematics, physics, or earth science
- Experience in microservices architecture, Docker, and production development workflow
