About the RoleWe are seeking a Head of Data Engineering to lead our data strategy and drive business growth. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for defining and delivering our data engineering, data governance, and data science roadmap.
You will work closely with department heads to empower our customers and drive business decisions. Your strong track record of people management, business acumen, and data expertise will be essential in delivering complex data projects and driving business outcomes.
Key Responsibilities- Strategy Development: Craft and own the data engineering, data science, and data governance roadmap, aligning high-priority projects with cross-functional partners.
- Team Management: Lead a team of engineers and analysts, fostering collaboration with internal stakeholders to execute the strategy effectively.
- Data Governance: Implement and take forward our data governance strategy, ensuring the security and integrity of our data.
- Strategic Planning: Develop short and long-term strategies to enhance revenue growth and preserve platform value.
- Operational Excellence: Spearhead the enhancement of operational tooling strategies and vendor relationships to deliver impactful insights.
We are looking for a candidate with a proven track record in leading and managing diverse data teams, including data engineers and analysts. You should have demonstrated ability to drive a data strategy that aligns with business objectives, strong people management skills, and deep knowledge of data engineering, data science, and business intelligence tools and methodologies.
Experience with cloud data platforms, ML model frameworks, and data governance frameworks is highly desirable. You should be able to lead initiatives that safeguard data integrity and promote best practices across the organisation.
Preferred QualificationsLeadership of a previous data function, management consulting, marketplace growth operations, or strategy work in a large business is highly desirable.
