At Carbon Maps, we're on a mission to revolutionize the food industry's approach to environmental accounting. As our Head of Engineering, you'll play a pivotal role in driving this mission forward by leading our engineering team in building and delivering our cutting-edge SaaS solution.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the engineering team in developing and delivering our tech roadmap, ensuring alignment with business goals and strategic objectives.
  • Hire, coach, and develop our engineering team, providing mentorship, guidance, and feedback to foster a culture of innovation and collaboration.
  • Develop and execute the Carbon Maps tech strategy, driving innovation and excellence in software development methodologies, tools, and frameworks.
  • Participate in pre-sales activities, client meetings, and POCs definition and presentation, ensuring seamless communication and alignment with business and product teams.
  • Ensure that engineering best practices are followed, and the team is utilizing the latest technologies to drive efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with the Co-founders, CEO, COO, and Chief Science Officer to align on initiatives, define and prioritize developments and enhancements, and drive strategic planning and budgeting processes.
  • Create and maintain a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
Requirements
  • 10+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 3 years in a leadership role, driving technical excellence and innovation.
  • Strong technical skills in software development methodologies, tools, frameworks, infrastructure, and product engineering, with a deep understanding of modern software development practices.
  • Successful experience in building and managing great tech teams, with a proven track record of delivering complex projects on time and on budget.
  • Business sense to understand clients and market, develop pragmatic tech stacks, and drive business growth.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills to defend tech positions internally and externally, with a strong ability to collaborate and influence stakeholders.
