PreSales Engineer (f/m/d)
Wire is in search of a skilled and enthusiastic professional to take on the role of Presales Engineer. This position is part of the Services Delivery & Solutions team at Wire, which is at the forefront of delivering an innovative collaboration platform. The platform emphasizes end-to-end encrypted communication (chat, calling) and is making significant advancements with a comprehensive file-sharing solution. YOUR ROLE AT WIRE
The Presales Engineer is crucial to Wire's Commercial Organization. In this capacity, you will enhance the sales process by offering in-depth technical knowledge and guidance during client interactions. This role also encompasses some sales responsibilities, including managing inbound sales leads, conducting demonstrations, and preparing pricing proposals for potential clients. Wire is developing some of the most advanced encrypted communication solutions available, and clients seek us for secure and innovative methods to protect their sensitive information. Therefore, you will need to cultivate a comprehensive understanding of Wire's products and technologies to assist the Sales Team in effectively communicating the advantages of our product portfolio. You will address technical objections that may arise during the sales process, making the ability to clearly convey complex ideas essential for securing new business opportunities and fostering Wire's growth.
Wire provides both SaaS and on-premises deployment options, encompassing the entire server-client architecture. The Presales Engineer will assist potential clients in recognizing the benefits of these deployment choices, thereby enhancing the value proposition of Wire's offerings and facilitating customer acquisition.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and maintain an in-depth understanding of Wire's technical architecture and capabilities.
- Support Sales meetings with technical and product expertise and deliver presentations.
- Assess customer use cases for compatibility with Wire products and technologies.
- Respond to inbound Sales inquiries.
- Lead Sales meetings and demonstrations.
- Prepare pricing proposals for prospective clients and convert new business opportunities into successful customer relationships.
- Engage in complex technical discussions regarding Wire's technology, security, features, functionalities, and integrations.
- Assist in the preparation of RFPs and RFIs by providing technical insights and responses.
- Collaborate closely with the Product and Engineering teams to address customer requirements and feedback.
- Quickly develop a comprehensive understanding of the full technology offering, including E2EE communications and secure file sharing.
- Address technical objections from clients.
- Conduct product demonstrations for Wire's offerings.
- Explain Wire's on-premises deployment process and requirements.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 2+ years as a successful Pre-Sales Engineer / Solutions Consultant OR 5+ years in a client-facing Professional Services/Consulting role involving sales scenarios.
- Proven experience as a Presales Engineer or in a similar technical pre-sales capacity.
- Full professional fluency in French and English.
- International experience supporting clients and colleagues in diverse and global environments.
- Solid understanding of software development methodologies (Agile, Scrum, etc.).
- Excellent problem-solving abilities with critical and analytical thinking skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
- Willingness to travel to client locations within the assigned region.
