Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Avionics Systems Specialist to join our team at Airbus. As a key member of our Avionics Systems Department, you will be responsible for the development and follow-up of Avionics Systems, including ATA 31 (Indicating), ATA 34 (Navigation and Surveillance), ATA 23 (Audio), ATA 45 (Maintenance), and Cybersecurity topics, on ATR42 and ATR72 programs.

Main Responsibilities
  • Contribute to Avionics Systems modifications and studies in compliance with applicable technical design directives and certification rules (FAR/JAR/CS25, CRIs, IPs…).
  • Ensure technology and regulation watch.
  • Participate in research programs.
  • Specify, develop, and integrate Systems and Equipment in accordance with Airbus product policy.
  • Release Specifications and Statements of Work, participate in supplier selection (RFI/RFP), conduct progress meetings, and monitor the development and adjustment of the concerned aircraft-installed systems.
  • Contribute to Certification Program and develop the Means of Compliance documents required for certification; discussions with Certification Authorities.
  • Issue technical data to support Operational and Maintenance documentation updates.
  • Verify ATR and Vendor Service Bulletins.
  • Support the Production Line in case of issues in the production phase, and during flight tests and delivery (assembly anomalies, troubleshooting, concessions, repairs…).
  • Provide technical support to the Customers and other Airbus directorates in their missions.
  • Manage technical relationships with Avionics equipment suppliers.
  • Draft Airlines information documents (SIL).
  • For aircraft events, contribute to identify the root causes and to provide expertise on parts found to be defective. If required, suggest adapted preventive/corrective solutions as well as applicable procedures.
  • Analyse in-service occurrences and evaluate the need for reporting.
  • Technical support to ICAO Annex 13 investigations.
Key Skills and Experience
  • Engineering degree from Aeronautical school (or equivalent).
  • Good experience (>5 years) in the development/support of aeronautical electronics systems, in particular ATA 31 (Indicating), ATA 34 (Navigation and Surveillance), ATA 23 (Audio) and ATA 45 (Maintenance), including both legacy (analogical, SAO…) and state-of-the-art (digital, SCADE…) technologies.
  • Knowledge of A/C regulations (JAR/CS/FAR 25, Part 21…), development processes and standards (e.g. ARP4754A, ARP4761…), qualification standards (e.g. DO160G, DO178C… and/or EUROCAE equivalent).
  • General knowledge of activities (production, support, procurement…) within an aircraft manufacturer.
  • Languages: Good level in English & French.
  • Knowledge in "Safety", "Human factors" and "Cyber-security" processes.
  • Experience in project management.
  • Good relationship skills, ability to communicate with various stakeholders (external: Authorities, Partners, Suppliers, Customers…; internal: Production, Quality, Procurement, Program, Customers Support, Marketing and Sales…). and in a multi-cultural environment.
