Senior Systems Engineer for Industrial Scanning Solutions

Job Summary:We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Systems Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have knowledge and experience in Fixed Industrial Scanning and be able to participate in the product development process from concept to market launch.
Responsibilities:- Establishes requirements for complex system design projects and may lead a team responsible for establishing requirements.
- Works closely with Product Management, Applications Engineering and Sales teams to ensure the product requirements will meet the true needs of our customers.
- Architects and designs complex systems, completes all phases of the projects, and follows through on all in-process and final inspection activities.
- Develops and applies technical and quality improvements.
- Helps define new programs, technologies and solutions based on novel or unique ideas and ensures innovative ideas and methodologies are utilized by engineering teams.
- Uses status as a knowledge leader in Fixed Industrial Scanning system design and functional knowledge across multiple engineering disciplines to provide technical leadership to a given program.
- Defines requirements for and may design complex new tools to aid in the analysis and solving of complex problems.
- Initiates cross-team collaboration and develops positive relationships with other engineering disciplines.
- May coordinate the activities of other personnel.
- Networks with key contacts outside of their own area of expertise, interacts with management and senior customer personnel on matters requiring coordination across organizational lines.
- Bachelor's degree required.
- 8+ years work experience in similar role.
- Solid analytical and practical knowledge of Fixed Industrial Scanning systems spanning electrical, software/OS design, and mechanical design components and an understanding of a product development process.
- Experience working in and/or designing products for Fixed Industrial Scanning markets, such as high-speed sortation, human presented scanning, and scan tunnels.
- Hands-on experience with machine vision, computer vision, or image processing including setting up cameras, lensing, lighting, filters, focal lengths, etc.
- Knowledge of mechanical, electrical and automation systems for manufacturing and/or logistics processes.
- Industrial Ethernet PLC communications experience with Rockwell and/or Siemens controllers is a plus.
- Ability to read electrical schematics.
- Linux & Windows OS.
- Ability to work with Oscilloscopes, function generators, Bench Power Supplies, and Logic analyzers.
- Familiar with Agile Development practices.
- Familiar with network and Industrial protocols (PROFINET, EIP, TCP/IP, Modbus, etc.).
- Prior experience designing camera systems (2D, 3D), including familiarity with optical requirements.
- Recent experience as a System Engineer working on product development.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Demonstrated proficiency and agility in dealing with ambiguity to stay focused and clear roadblocks.
- Experience leading interdisciplinary technical teams through a full product lifecycle.
- Able to clearly communicate complex concepts to broadly diverse audiences and guide both local and remote teams in achieving their goals.
