Laboratory Chemicals Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Laboratory Chemicals Specialist to join our team in South West France. As a key member of our sales team, you will be responsible for identifying, developing and maintaining customers for our market-leading range of Laboratory Reagents and Custom/Bulk chemicals and blends.
About the RoleAs a Laboratory Chemicals Specialist, you will sell our range direct to customers as well as through top-tier distribution channels in South West, working closely with commercial teams to represent our products in the marketplace. Our customers operate in various markets, producing groundbreaking scientific research, clean energy, new industrial applications, and representing leading household names in Pharmaceuticals, Food and Beverage, and Environmental testing.
Key Responsibilities- Achieve or exceed sales quota and objectives while ensuring customer satisfaction by developing and implementing an effective territory business plan.
- Provide accurate business forecasts for all products in scope.
- Establish strong relationships with local sales teams and lateral functions (e.g., marketing, service, support, customer service). Train/enable/support sales representatives in promoting our range of products.
- Maintain Salesforce for all visits and opportunities, continually improving the tool to suit business needs and enhance customer relationships.
- Develop product knowledge within the portfolio and its potential benefits for solving challenges and improving results. Identify features and benefits of competitors' products and services, sharing insights with internal colleagues.
- Coordinate, evaluate, attend, and support local trade shows and conferences, demonstrating flexibility to accommodate customer requirements.
- Maintain contact with existing customers to promote new products, close deals, and grow sales, as well as develop new prospects.
- Play an active role within your team by sharing leads, developing opportunities, contributing to team spirit, sharing standard methodologies, and improving business processes.
- Attend required sales meetings and training sessions, implementing new skills gained.
- Background in Chemistry through a relevant degree or equivalent knowledge and industry/functional experience.
- Minimum 1 year (preferably > 3 years) of professional selling experience.
- Experience in a large matrix organization is highly appreciated.
- Must be flexible and willing to travel between 50%-70% in their territory to implement duties.
- Self-motivated and success-driven individual.
- Self-directed to work independently at a highly technical level.
- Proven problem-solving and interpersonal skills.
- Fluency in French, both verbal and written. English as a working language is required.
- Excellent clear and concise written and verbal communication skills.
- Driving license.
We offer a competitive salary of €60,000 - €80,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus additional benefits. If you are a driven and experienced sales professional looking to join a dynamic team, please submit your application.
