Job Title: Assistant Front Office Manager

Join our team at Sofitel Washington DC Lafayette Square as an Assistant Front Office Manager, where you will play a key role in ensuring exceptional guest experiences and driving hotel operations forward.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Front Office Manager to join our dynamic team. As a key member of the Front Office department, you will be responsible for providing exceptional guest service, managing front desk operations, and leading a team of Front Office Ambassadors, Concierges, Bellmen, and other front office staff.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Front Office Manager in all aspects of the department and ensure service standards are followed.
  • Provide support for Front Office in the daily operation, including managing front desk operations, handling guest inquiries, and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Consistently offer professional, friendly, and engaging service to guests, ensuring a positive experience throughout their stay.
  • Ensure proper staffing and scheduling of all Front Office Ambassadors, Concierges, Bellmen, and other front office staff in accordance with productivity guidelines.
  • Assist with bi-weekly payroll and participate in the hotel upgrade program.
  • Communicate through pre-shift logs, emails, and departmental meetings all pertinent information for the respective shift.
  • Train Front Office staff in all front office aspects, including guest service, front desk operations, and hotel policies.
  • Assist guests regarding hotel facilities in an informative and helpful way, ensuring they have a seamless and enjoyable stay.
  • Assist and follow up with any guest inconvenience, ensuring prompt resolution and a positive outcome.
  • Review processes and procedures, looking for areas of opportunity and implementing improvement plans to drive efficiency and excellence.
  • Work with the Front Office Manager on action plans to increase employee engagement and satisfaction.
  • Follow departmental policies, procedures, and service standards, ensuring compliance and adherence to Accor's high standards.
  • Follow all safety policies and procedures, ensuring a safe and secure environment for guests and staff.
  • Flexible work schedule, including morning, evening, and some overnight shifts, to meet the needs of the hotel and guests.
Requirements:
  • Previous leadership experience in a similar role required.
  • A minimum of one year's Front Office management experience required.
  • Previous experience with a Property Management system required.
  • Computer literate in Microsoft Windows applications required.
  • University/College degree in a related discipline preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities.
  • Highly responsible and reliable.
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work cohesively as part of a team.
  • Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times.
