Electrochemical Modelling Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Electrochemical Modelling Engineer to join our team at Verkor. As an Electrochemical Modelling Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and implementing electrochemical models for Li-ion battery cells and components.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement electrochemical models for Li-ion battery cells and components
- Implement models in COMSOL, 3D Experience, and other available tools
- Run simulations to serve different objectives, including specification, prediction, and advanced studies
- Develop tools and techniques for physicochemical characterization of battery cells and components
- Perform Design of Experiments (DOEs) and run experiments in collaboration with battery scientists and test engineers
- Construct advanced studies, perform data analyses, and deliver study results to support the Product Development Team
- Review literature for state-of-the-art understanding of complex physico-chemical phenomena in Li-ion cells and components
- Work closely with cell development leaders to meet project requirements
- Lead technical investigations, perform diagnostic analysis, and prepare progress updates
- PhD in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, Mechanical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering
- Specialized knowledge in electrochemistry, electrochemical engineering, and Li-ion batteries
- Experience in physics-based modeling of Li-ion batteries (3+ years preferred)
- Strong background in mathematical modeling and model order reduction techniques
- Proficiency in scientific coding (Matlab/Python) and numerical methods (FEM, CVM,...)
- Proficiency in simulation tools (3D Experience, ANSYS, COMSOL,...)
- Experience in hands-on lab activities (cell assembly, testing,...)
- Experience in project management
- English: proficient / French is a plus
