Senior Compliance Officer and Deputy to the Head of Compliance

Main Responsibilities

  • Support the Head of Compliance in managing the team and handling complex files, ensuring seamless day-to-day operations.
  • Represent Compliance in the EFGI Client Acceptance Committee, fostering strong relationships with stakeholders.
  • Analyze and approve account openings, maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Follow up on periodic reviews and CIP modifications, guaranteeing compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare suspicious transaction reports and provide recommendations to the Head of Compliance as needed.
  • Enhance the compliance culture within the bank, promoting a risk-aware mindset among team members.
  • Monitor and follow up on audit points, ensuring prompt resolution and closure.
  • Participate in drafting reports to authorities, maintaining transparency and accountability.
  • Coach and train junior Compliance officers, fostering their growth and development.
  • Develop and manage the company's policies, procedures, and controls related to Financial Crime Compliance, ensuring alignment with regulatory standards.
  • Maintain and update the Compliance Risk Assessment, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
  • Perform second-line controls on a regular basis, presenting results to stakeholders and driving continuous improvement.

Professional Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in law, economics, finance, or a related field.
  • Fluent in English (and preferably also in French).
  • At least 8 years of experience in a Compliance function in a financial institution or audit/consulting firm.
  • Ideal previous managerial experience a strong plus.
  • Strong organizational skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to cope with pressure, manage own goals, and set up priorities.
  • Excellent knowledge of AML-CFT regulatory obligations, laws, and regulations, including main sanctions regimes.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, able to communicate with a variety of stakeholders.
  • Independent oversight and problem-solving skills.
  • Analytical skills.
  • Great attention to detail and high accuracy.
  • A team player who is able to adapt and learn to work in a fast-paced environment.
