Residential Life Advisor

The Residential Life Advisor plays a crucial role in ensuring quality housing experiences for students at The American University of Paris.
Reporting to the Housing Logistics Coordinator and the Housing Manager, the Advisor will assist in the administrative tasks related to housing logistics and maintenance operations within the Residential Life Office.
This role involves coordinating with maintenance personnel to schedule necessary repairs and upkeep, as well as collaborating with housing coordinators to provide essential information and support to students regarding housing maintenance concerns.
The standard working hours for this position are from 9 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday, with potential adjustments based on operational needs.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Preparation and Management of Residences
# Support logistics operations to prepare housing facilities for new semesters (inventory, cleaning, linen, repairs, etc.)
# Assist with ordering and replacing equipment and inventory.
# Aid in the Resident Assistant (RA) program by participating in recruitment, training, and conducting meetings, while providing guidance to RAs regarding maintenance tasks and logistical responsibilities.
Maintenance Oversight
# Supervise cleaning and maintenance activities.
# Track student maintenance requests and ensure timely resolution.
# Communicate updates to students regarding scheduled maintenance and completed repairs.
# Help coordinate routine inspections of buildings.
# Participate in health and safety evaluations of residences and organize necessary interventions based on identified issues.
# Manage the inventory of keys/badges/cards and assist in the replacement of lost items.
Administrative Assistance
# Facilitate payment processing for service providers with the accounting department.
# Organize and file payment requests for purchases.
Support for the Residential Life Office
# Assist in preparing move-in and move-out documentation (inventories, walkthrough documents, leases, contracts).
# Support during student move-in and move-out days.
# Help manage security deposit refund procedures.
Additional Duties
# Perform other relevant tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
Proficient in both French and English.
Familiarity with the Parisian environment and the French community.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
Experience managing multiple projects while adhering to deadlines.
Service-oriented with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Sensitivity to diverse student needs and cultural differences.
Familiarity with the American educational system is a plus.
