Altrad is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Cost Manager to oversee all cost management activities, ensuring accurate budgeting, cost control, and financial reporting for nuclear projects. This role is essential in ensuring financial efficiency and accountability within our operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Budgeting and Forecasting
    • Develop and manage detailed project budgets, ensuring alignment with project goals and objectives.
    • Prepare financial forecasts and provide regular updates to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Cost Control and Monitoring
    • Monitor project expenditures and ensure costs remain within approved budgets.
    • Identify and analyze cost variances and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Financial Reporting
    • Generate accurate and timely financial reports, including cost summaries, variance analyses, and forecast updates.
    • Present financial data and insights to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Project Cost Estimation
    • Develop cost estimates for new projects, including materials, labor, and overhead costs.
    • Collaborate with engineering and procurement teams to ensure accurate and comprehensive cost assessments.
  • Contract Management
    • Review and manage contracts to ensure financial terms and conditions are met.
    • Evaluate contractor and supplier bids to ensure cost-effectiveness and compliance with budgetary constraints.
  • Risk Management
    • Identify potential cost risks and develop mitigation strategies.
    • Conduct risk assessments and implement financial controls to minimize risk exposure.
  • Process Improvement
    • Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
    • Implement best practices in cost management and financial control.
  • Stakeholder Communication
    • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders regarding cost management activities.
    • Provide financial support and advice to project teams and other departments.
  • Team Leadership
    • Lead and mentor cost management team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment.
    • Provide training and development opportunities to enhance team capabilities.
  • Compliance and Governance
    • Ensure all cost management activities comply with regulatory requirements and organizational policies.
    • Maintain accurate records and documentation for audit purposes.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Quantity Surveying, or a related field. A master's degree or relevant certifications (e.g., Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS)) is preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 7 years of cost management experience, with at least 3 years in the nuclear industry or a similarly regulated environment.
  • Skills:
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Proficiency in financial management software and tools.
    • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure.

Additional Requirements:

  • Ability to obtain and maintain security clearance.
  • Willingness to travel to various sites and facilities as needed.
