The Centre Hospitalier Universitaire de Bordeaux stands as a prominent institution in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region, situated in a vibrant city known for its proximity to natural attractions. It is recognized among the leading university hospitals in France, delivering comprehensive healthcare, research, education, and preventive services to the community.
With a workforce of 14,500 and a diverse array of over 180 professions, the hospital operates across multiple locations, including the Pellegrin and Saint-André groups in Bordeaux, as well as the Sud group in Pessac. The institution maintains a close partnership with the University of Bordeaux, contributing significantly to the education of medical, surgical, pharmaceutical, and dental students, while also engaging in pioneering research initiatives.
The Biomedical Engineering Department consists of a dedicated team of 41 professionals, including biomedical engineers and senior biomedical technicians, who are tasked with the management of a wide range of medical equipment.
At the Pellegrin Hospital Group, which is the largest site within the CHU Bordeaux network, there are 14 specialized technicians focusing on various biomedical disciplines:
- Dialysis and Functional Explorations
- Radiology, Ultrasound, and Nuclear Medicine
- Laboratory and Pharmacy Services
- Monitoring, Imaging, and Functional Rehabilitation
- Sterilization, Endoscopy, and Video Systems
- Operating Techniques and Dentistry
- Ventilation, Warming Systems, and Hyperbaric Chambers
Job Responsibilities:
- Oversee the biomedical equipment inventory utilizing maintenance management software (GMAO: Computerized Maintenance Management System),
- Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance of equipment, ensuring traceability and coordinating with external service providers,
- Provide assistance in the operation of biomedical equipment,
- Engage in the monitoring of equipment safety.
Main duties include:
- Executing preventive and corrective maintenance, managing spare parts procurement, and adhering to established procedures and hygiene standards,
- Tracking internal and external interventions through the Computerized Maintenance Management System to ensure data integrity,
- Facilitating the installation of new equipment, managing inventory, overseeing installation processes, and coordinating training with suppliers,
- Managing technical and financial aspects of outsourced services, including contracts, maintenance schedules, and documentation,
- Providing support, guidance, and training to teams and users in relevant areas,
- Offering procurement advice and overseeing equipment testing,
- Ensuring compliance with regulations, procedures, and standards in the biomedical field,
- Contributing to the quality assurance processes within the Biomedical Engineering Department.
Essential Qualifications:
- Technical expertise in electronics, mechanics, IT, and multimedia,
- Interpersonal skills including service orientation, diplomacy, teamwork, and effective communication,
- Strong organizational abilities with attention to detail and clarity in task management,
- Proficient writing skills,
- Ability to adapt to various challenges encountered in the role.
A degree in a biomedical discipline is preferred.
