Based in the Chicago area, and reporting to US HR Manager, Field Operations, the ideal candidate will have a broad knowledge of the US State laws, Human Resources and labour standards requirements, with a focus on the California laws. They will be able to work autonomously and efficiently to ensure the end-to-end management of all HR related matters, including the roll out of HR projects.They will be involved in our ongoing transformation from a traditional brick & mortar retailer, to an omni-channel leader and tech-first fashion disruptor. Main Responsibilities: In partnership with the HR Director, provide counseling to field leaders on how to handle associate relations issues; act as an expert on HR processes and people practices.Support change management execution in the store network.Facilitate Sales structure optimization and people changes by participating in the talent development in order to create and sustain an internal pipeline.Guide and support management teams in the application of our policies and procedures.Participate in the roll out of HR projects, processes and/or corporate initiatives.Analyze/Monitor key people metrics and develop needed action plans to improve talent development and retention.Support field leaders with compensation analysis, reporting requirements and data analytics.Support recruitment strategy to network, source and create a pipeline of candidates for high level management positions.Participate in Loss Prevention investigations.Support Health and Safety initiatives, policies and processes.Work closely with payroll/benefits to ensure compliance with the various process.Monitor and ensure understanding and compliance with federal and state laws as well as company human resources policies and procedures.Qualifications:Undergraduate degree and/or college diploma, preferably Human Resources or related field.Minimum of 4 years of experience as an HR Generalist, preferably within the retail environment.Demonstrated knowledge of US states employment laws, employee relations, best practices and recruitment practices, including a strong knowledge of the California state employment laws.Strong interpersonal and communication skills (both oral and written) in English.High level of adaptability and ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast paced, ever-changing environment.Creative and innovative approach.Travel required as per business needs (approximately 30% of the time).Excellent written and verbal skills.Strong Computer Skills (PowerPoint and Excel).Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.Results-oriented, customer-centric.Pay Rate Range (Annually ): 75k-95kAt GDI, you will be part of a growing organization that understands the importance of investing in people and offers you:A comprehensive compensation package that includes performance-driven bonuses;A group retirement savings program with employer matching;Flexible group insurance with personalized coverage that meets your needs;An employee discount at Garage and Dynamite;Exclusive private sample sales;A flexible vacation policy;And moreGDI has been repeatedly voted one of Montréal's Top Employers and one of Canada's Top Employers for Young People.Our promise...No day will be like the last-we aim to be better today than we were yesterday.
