**Job Offer - Engineer/Master in protein biochemistry**
- **Position Overview**_
We are seeking a highly motivated engineer or Master’s graduate to join the THIONICO project, as part of the interdisciplinary ARTEMIS program.
The goal of THIONICO is to **biochemically and structurally characterize atypical poplar thioredoxins of unknown function** that form **oligomers in solution.** This work will contribute to extend our understanding of the **redox metabolism in plants.**
- **Responsibilities**_
In compliance with protocols available in the literature and laboratory and a rigorous quality approach, your tasks will include:
- Building constructs using modular cloning.
- Developing the _N. benthamiana_ expression system for recombinant proteins.
- Investigating the biochemical activities and properties of the obtained protein complexes.
- Preparing samples for the structural analysis of the complexes.
- Contributing to the broader ARTEMIS operational challenge OC1 - Decipher the biology of the tree-microbiome systems.
- Recombinant protein expression and purification
- Protein complex characterization, enzymology, redox biology or structural biology
- Solid skills in molecular biology techniques particularly Golden Gate cloning) and transient expression in _N. benthamiana-_ Experience with protein expression in eukaryotic system is a strong plus
- Plant cultivation
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative and interdisciplinary environment

- Contract: Fixed-term (12 months)
- Start Date: September 1, 2025
- Salary: According to current pay scale, between 2200 and 2400 € gross salary
