**Duties**:
The Computer Systems Specialist is responsible for the configuration, maintenance and troubleshooting equipment and network infrastructure of the OpenNet (OPN), DIN and Wi-Fi networks according to State Department standards and regulations. The duties include deployment, configuration, maintenance, performance and security monitoring of networked physical and virtual servers, workstations, routers and switches, Active Directory management, as well as the creation and updating of backup and contingency plans. Additionally, s/he supports and maintains all Wi-Fi networks and equipment within the Missions. The incumbent receives direction and reports to the Senior LES IT Operations Supervisor, but is expected to perform his/her duties in an independent, self-directed manner. The incumbent manages OPN, DIN and multiple Wi-Fi networks at the Main Chancery. Chancery IT equipment on these networks include a significant farm of physical and virtual servers, workstations, routers, switches and other network components which provide critical connectivity for over 1,000 accounts.

**Qualifications and Evaluations**:

- Requirements:
EXPERIENCE: at least three years of IT professional work experience is required.

JOB KNOWLEDGE: The incumbent must be familiar with the configuration and maintenance of Windows server, printers, MFP and desktop technologies, including the use of virtual platforms; Cisco switches and routers; enterprise firewalls; high volume storage devices such as Netapp appliances; and Cloud data backup technologies. The incumbent must possess a well-grounded knowledge of networking (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, LAN/WAN technologies, VLAN, VPN, IP4, IP6 addressing and Cloud technology), Active Directory Management, Group Policy, imaging creation and deployment, Windows PowerShell, patch management, and Wi-Fi protocols and technologies.
- Education Requirements:
College (2 years) or Post-Secondary School with diploma is required.
- Evaluations:
LANGUAGE (THESE WILL BE TESTED): English level 3 required (Good Working Knowledge). French level 3 required (Good Working Knowledge).

SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Ability to work independently, prioritize competing concerns, exercise good judgment, and keep his/her supervisors apprised of any issues meriting their attention is required.

The pay plan is assigned at the time of the conditional offer letter by the HR Office.
