You will be attached to the Bars & Wires center in Process Department which is composed by 10 researchers working on development and deploying process solutions for ArcelorMittal. **Your role** The job consists in providing support to the development of digitalization activities in casting, rolling and downstream processes for Long Products Bars&Wires perimeter. Therefore, you will be in close contact both with our internal customers, the business units and Global R&D specialists. The main activities will be: - To define the specifications of vision and control systems and to work in close collaboration with Global R&D specialists to develop them. - To support long carbon plants in the optimization of the production route for bars & wires in the objective to solve quality and production issues as well as to assist to the development of new products, via the means of instrumentation and data analysis. - To take in charge the continuous improvement and optimization of the instrumentation equipment already used by the process department of Bars & Wires. - To develop / acquire new sensors and to ensure the development of the systems to control them. - To perform regular business trips on a worldwide scale to implement the sensor and control systems in the long carbon plants. - To reinforce knowledge development and innovation in the field of instrumentation via thorough benchmarking, as well as internal and external partnerships and collaborations. - To manage medium and long term projects (>12 months) in the scope of the engineers activities. This job necessitates a strong collaboration with plants, a good reactivity and a sense of priorities to overcome urgent issues. In addition, you will work in multi-disciplinary teams involving various cultures. To perform in this job, good communication skills are required. Furthermore, business trips in plants (worldwide) will be necessary. **Your profile** - You hold a Master's degree or a PhD in Physical Measurements and Instrumentation. - First working experience in a production plant, specifically in the field of sensor development, sensor programming, sensor implementation and maintenance would be a plus. - You are advanced in English. - Any additional language beyond French and English would be an asset (i.e. German, Polish, Spanish, Portuguese). - You had practical experiences in the development of models: Excel macros, Fortran, C++, Scylab. - You have some knowledge in Statistical Methods (Statistica, ANOVA, datamining..) - You are a team player with good communication skills. - You are rigorous and autonomous. - You have the willingness to learn constantly, you are curious. **According to ArcelorMittal Global R&D values**: - You agree to comply with health and safety rules - You are respectful, transparent, honest and empathetic in your relationships.
