The Position

Lead Mechanical and Piping Engineer

Job Summary

Context:
In charge to provide operational and technical support for major industrial CAPEX projects within Imerys Graphite & Carbon (IGC). Define and maintain IGC

technical engineering standards in his field.

Job Summary:
Main tasks concern global improvement in electrical and automation engineering management in order to reduce capex costs (200 M€/y), deliver projects in time, budget and performances, and increase competitiveness, through the development of Capital Expenditure Request, animation of Mechanical experts community and standardization of best practices.

Provide operational support during preparation and execution for major industrial projects. Deliver expertise in these fields upon request.

CAPEX Industrial Project and Technical support
- Support project manager in equipment selection and technical decision and

provide operational support during design and execution where strong expertise is required with emphasis on identification of total cost of ownership reduction opportunities.
- Develop Mechanical and pipping part of the Capital Expenditure Request

leading feasibility and Basic engineering studies subcontracted to external

engineering partners. Select suppliers and follow execution.
- Define the minimum requirements for major Capital Expenditure Requests and

check compliance with Group Standards for his field.
- Animate IGC Mechanical engineers’ community to facilitate best practices

sharing. Defined resources, identify and contract with external third parties to

support engineering and execution phases.
- Provide project support and assistance whenever necessary on initiatives and

projects related to industrial projects.

Standardization:

- Develop, standardize and maintain Mechanical and Piping technical

engineering standards.

Enhance the technical know-how and support networking
- Support Capex procurement in supplier qualification and supplier database

management.
- Develop the exchange of information and expertise in appropriate formats like

reference documents, web-conferences, internal benchmarks.

**Profile**:

- Expertise in Mechanical and pipping for continuous process industry
- Project management skills : organized, time conscious, result oriented
- Ability to convince with clear demonstration, autonomous, rigorous
- Capacity to elaborate precise and synthetic documents
- Team player, ability to work with colleagues in different parts of the (USA,

Europe, Canada, Singapore, etc...)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google tools.
- Fluent in English (any other languages appreciated)

Education & Experience:
Engineering school - Specialized in Mechanical
- 20 years of experience (preferably chemical - mineral and/or continuous heavy process industry) and multi-site manufacturing environment.

Location & Travels:

- Position based in Lyon or other (Imerys Technical Center), home office can be

considered to a limited extend.
- Frequent travels worldwide
