**Main Responsibilities**

Analysis and Drafting
- Monitoring and analysing developments in the electricity industry and markets, taking account of related developments in particular policies related to the role of decentralised energy resources.
- Analysing the consequences of low carbon policies on electricity markets and regulatory arrangements. This includes in particular, analysing the impact of greater shares of variable renewable energy, the role of nuclear energy and development of demand response in addressing key energy policy goals.
- Contributing to the analysis of electricity security of supply in IEA member countries, in close cooperation with other Divisions, and in particular work related to the Electricity Security Action Plan.
- Expand activities with IEA key partner countries on topics related to electricity markets developments, particularly electricity security across borders.
- Supporting the broader activities of the IEA through analytical, written and verbal contributions, development of web content and briefs on all aspects of electricity.
- Assist with project management as appropriate.

Liaison and Outreach
- Collaborate with other Divisions in the Agency and other organisations on cross-cutting projects, publications, policy reviews, the development of programmes and conferences. Liaise with the IEA Technology Collaboration Programmes to help support the IEA’s work on developing technologies in the field of electricity.
- Participate in preparations for meetings of IEA standing committees, advisory panels and conferences as required; participate in relevant meetings of other international organisations; provide support for the development of reports, analyses and information items for these meetings.
- Maintain contacts with policy-level government, other international organisations, industry and research institutions. Promote the work of the Agency externally to a wide range of audiences through organising and participating in workshops, making presentations and holding bi-lateral meetings.

**Qualifications**:
Academic Background

Preferably an advanced university degree(s) in relevant disciplines, such as economics, engineering or similar discipline.

Professional Background
- At least three to five years' experience of economic analysis and reporting upon international electricity issues, including a good understanding of price movements, factors shaping electricity demand and supply, market & regulatory developments.
- Strong knowledge of the electricity sector technologies for electricity generation and networks, including decentralised energy resources.
- Proven quantitative analytical abilities as demonstrated in past work (analytic reports, operative models, and/or published papers).

**What the OECD offers***

Depending on level of experience, monthly salary starts at either 7 738.74 EUR, plus allowances based on eligibility, exempt of French income tax.

Please note that the appointment may be made at one grade lower in the specified job family, based on the qualifications and professional experience of the selected applicant.
