As a Barclays France Country Compliance, you will be responsible for assisting the Head of Compliance France and Belgium in the oversight of France based activities undertaken by the Barclays Bank Ireland Plc (referred to as Barclays Europe) in Paris including also non business related matters such as regulatory interactions, EU projects, and France related MIs.

**Working Flexibly**
**What will you be doing?**:
- Proactively working with the Head of Compliance France and Belgium to develop relationships with key external stakeholders on regulatory and conduct risk issues
- Supporting the Head of Compliance France and Belgium in the regulatory interactions related to investigations/ inspections/requests for information
- Supporting the Head of Compliance France and Belgium as required, in industry consultations issued by regulators on changes in rules and regulations
- Supporting the coordination between the BE control room and the central EMEA control room in the provision of advice and MIs
- Helping build relationships and working effectively with Risk partners across Barclays Europe, to provide an integrated approach to enterprise wide risk management
- Maintaining effective relationships and dealing openly with all key stakeholders by pursuing the Barclays Citizenship and Shared Growth Strategy
**What we’re looking for**:
- University degree required (in law, economics or management)
- Graduate degree preferred (e.g., law, business BA)
- Significant experience working in a relevant role
- Understanding of both the regulatory frameworks and products and services offered by BE
**Skills that will help you in the role**:
- Financial Services experience, ideally gained in the legal and/ or compliance function of a French investment bank or a regional subsidiary of an international financial institution
- Fluency in English and French (verbal and written) and display a high level of analytical thinking, together with a high standard of judgement, problem solving and persuasion skills
- Ability to exercise integrity and judgment to influence behaviours, particularly in challenging situations
- Ability to identify potential conduct issues and to develop strategies to mitigate risk
