- Department description: The Pernod Ricard Procure department at Pernod Ricard International Headquarters (Paris) is responsible for developing and deploying the purchasing strategy for the group, in collaboration with brand and market companies.
- The “Center of Excellence” team is in charge of the data management, packaging expertise and tools necessary for the purchasing transformation roadmap of the Group.

Job aim:
Under the responsibility of the Head of Design to Sustainable Value you will lead and coordinate the deployment of the packaging improvement project “Design to Sustainable Value” identifying opportunities (idea generation): financial, environmental

Once identified, the different projects need to be endorsed by the Brands Companies and you will follow the implementation / execution in collaboration with packaging purchasing categories.

Roles and responsibilities:
Lead the “Design to Sustainable Value” project, being a key player to promote the 4 pillars of Pernod Ricard Procure: sustainability, margin improvement, quality and security of supply, accelerated innovation.
- In close collaboration with the affiliates and purchasing categories, identify opportunities in the packaging (TCO approach)
- Propose specification, rationalization and harmonization by doing a market benchmark and by analyzing the Group databases
- Handle relationships and contributions from different senior stakeholders and teams including product management and Operations (e.g., manufacturing, procurement, supply chain management) to be sure that initiatives are endorsed by the affiliates until the execution
- Lead supporting activities linked to the project including workshops, visits to plants and SteerCo meetings
- Monitor sustainable and cost opportunities. Track in a tool the initiatives and once consolidated see how this is participating to Pernod Ricard Group strategy.

Scope and perimeter:

- Number of person to supervise: 0
- Key contact: Internally, purchasing category directors (glass, closures and labels, secondary packaging), Sustainability team (S&R and sustainable performance), Development managers / purchasing managers / marketing managers / supply chain and production from the affiliates Externally: Consulting firms
- Budget to manage: Packaging is a massive component of COGS for Pernod Ricard brands
- Business trip (% of time working): Limited to as and when necessary, approx. 10% of the working time

Skills required:

- Professional knowledge of project management methods with a strong expertise on value engineering/ DTSV
- Strong leadership skills supported by experience leading cross functional projects against demanding timelines
- Relevant business knowledge to be able to manage interactions and topics across business disciplines
- Highly effective communication skills and stakeholder management
- Demonstrated high level of creativity, proactiveness and problems solving skills
- Work with Collaborative approach: plans and align to drive collective performance
- Sound knowledge of processes within multiple areas of the Supply chain and how product development will affect these areas

Profile required:

- Education required: Master’s degree in engineering School, ideally specialized in packaging
- Work experience required: 5-10 years experience in a multinational and challenging environment in packaging development required, ideally in Wine and spirits, cosmetics, or luxury industries.
- Knowledge of Glass category is a plus
- Language required: fluent English imperative, French is a plus.
