**Job Overview**
**Responsibilities**
- Provide first-line technical support for desktop users, addressing hardware and software issues effectively.
- Troubleshoot and resolve problems related to Microsoft Windows Server, Active Directory, and VPN connectivity.
- Maintain and configure computer hardware, ensuring optimal performance of devices.
- Manage user accounts in Active Directory and provide support for network-related issues including DNS, TCP/IP, and LAN configurations.
- Utilise tools such as SCCM for software deployment and updates.
- Document all technical issues and resolutions using ServiceNow or Jira for tracking purposes.
- Communicate effectively with users to understand their needs and provide timely solutions.
- Collaborate with the IT team to enhance overall service delivery and implement improvements in processes.
**Qualifications**
- Proven experience in desktop support or technical support roles.
- Strong understanding of computer networking principles, including TCP, VPNs, firewalls, and LAN configurations.
- Familiarity with operating systems such as Windows (including Windows Server) and macOS; knowledge of Linux is a plus.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex software issues effectively.
- Proficient in using help desk software such as BMC Remedy or ServiceNow; experience with Jira is advantageous.
- Strong communication skills with a focus on customer service excellence.
