Coo Insurance France

HSBC Insurance France COO leads the implementation of group and local strategies within the France insurance company, to which it contributes. This is done in partnership with the COO of Global Insurance and the local COO of HSBC Continental Europe ( HBCE) and in close collaboration with the CEO of HSBC Insurance France. The COO oversees the effective operation of the France Insurance Company insuring the supply of quality services following the Group and Regulatory Requirements standards.

The COO is a member of the France Insurance Company Executive Committee and the principal governance committees of the French entity.
The COO has direct responsibility for the Business Services, Investment Operations, Transformation, Internal Control, Cost Management Unit, Data Management, and Vendor Management teams.
She/he is in charge of monitoring the main external services, and in particular, the company’s information technology.

Missions:

- Contribute, in partnership with the France Company’s CEO and COO of Global Insurance, to the definition of the Group’s strategy and the Company’s strategy in France by ensuring that local needs are taken into account.
- Overseeing the integration of the Group’s standards while ensuring compliance with local rules and obligations of the HSBC Insurance France.
- Monitor and supervise daily operational activities in collaboration with the various internal and external partners, ensuring the quality of services and processes provided to our clients.
- Ensure compliance rules are taken into account in the business services operational processes.
- Lead the France company's transformation and major projects, following the local strategies and the Group standards (delivery platforms and services) by mitigating risks and ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.
- Lead the management of the France company’s operational risks and the organization and effectiveness of operational controls. Supervise management of operational incidents.
- Organize operational overhead tracking, drive the France company's cost base and identify opportunities for sustainable cost reduction and achievement of cost objectives in partnership with Finance and Business.
- Oversee and ensure robust controls and risk mitigation framework on cyber & information security risk
- Work with DBS HBCE to define and drive the execution of technology strategy for France Company. - Chair the company's business continuity plans.
- Ensure strong Vendor Management : Operational monitoring of major supplier contracts, contract negotiation, quality of relationship and associated risks. Ensure compliance with vendor management policies throughout the France company.
- Ensure strong Data Management: oversees the France company’s overall data documentation and data quality policy.
- Facilitate the Unions Representatives (CSE) and represent the France company in external bodies (Labor Inspectorate).

Requirements

**Profile**:

- Leadership skills: leading its teams in a matrix environment, represent the France company with regulators/ACPR and other third parties.
- Strong knowledge of insurance activities (front and back office) and understanding of the external environment: regulatory, political, competitive and the market.
- Business knowledge, ideally equipped with management experience of a complex production unit in a global banking environment.
- Practical experience of business transformation with experience of large-scale project management.
- Strong autonomy and ability to make decisions in a complex environment.
- Ability to work in an international environment and matrix organization
- Ability to effectively manage and mitigate operational risks/ manage costs.
- Effectively communicate in English both orally and in writing.
