EHS Regional Leader for Power Transmission

**Job Description Summary**: Responsible for leading and managing all the environmental, health and safety (EHS) aspects in the Power Transmission (PT) Business Line for the South Europe & Central Europe region. Coordination of EHS includes manufacturing sites located in Villeurbanne and Aix les Bains in France, Kassel and Monchengladbach in Germany, Oberentfelden in Switzerland, Sesto San Giovanni and Noventa Di Piave in Italia. Position needs in addition a strong and specific focus on Services organization when our activities (erection, maintenance ) are done within our customer’s sites, located also in South & Central Europe. Ability to support EHS for Manufacturing and Services organizations on different execution scope, from ITO phase to OTR, including contractors’ management. **Roles and Responsibilities** Main EHS Point of Contact for a Business Line in the region. Report solid line to the Regional Leader and dotted line to the EHS Business Leader. Ability to hire and train EHS organization to cover multi country, lead multicultural organization and team. Assess & understand regulatory changes in his/her scope of responsibilities, trends and forecast business impacts. Drive implementation of GE and regulatory EHS expectations within his/her region activities, including at customer sites, workshops, etc. Actively support the Regional Leader of his/her Business line for all EHS matters. Develop strong working relationship with operational teams in his/her scope and help drive the expected EHS compliance, performance and culture across all operations. Ensure appropriate resources are available in his/her regions to support his/her Product Line, in accordance with the Regional Leader, the EHS Business Leader and the HR Business Leader. Work closely with the Business Line EHS teams Drive Business Line initiatives and actions at regional level Ensure expected event reports, root causes analysis and actions plan follow up is done with a timely manner, in coordination with concerned local teams and EHS Business Leader. Reports Consolidated regional data for his/her Business Line Set-up EHS operating rhythm and momentum at regional Business Line level (accident calls, EHS reviews, etc.) Ensure EHS trainings as required by GE and regulations is efficient and sustainable, this includes train by yourself on few specific topics. Ensure all internal and external EHS reporting are completed on time and with accuracy (Safety and Environment). Ensure GE and legal compliance in his/her Business Line in the region Implement and conduct governance and audit programs, to challenge knowledge and behaviors of teams, to identify existing or potential EHS hazards and liabilities, to determine corrective or preventative measures where indicated and to manage the resolution of identified issues. In addition, within the role, be the main point of contact for Grid Solutions SAS France EHS French council, in liaise with **Requirements**: Degree in engineering, environmental science, safety management or other EHS-related technical discipline from an accredited college/university is required. Graduate degree is preferred (Relevant training NEBOSH H&S or NEBOSH env or equivalent) At least 5 years of EHS program development, implementation, and leadership experience with a focus on business segments such as electric power, refining, Civil works, Offshore or similar industrial sector. Experience with direction and leadership of EHS programs with operating assets and teams located in multiple countries Strong knowledge of, and experience with, fundamental health & safety programs including but not limited to Lockout-Tagout, Work at Height, Confined Space, Electrical Safety, Liftings, Hazardous Chemical Management/Process Safety Management, Ergonomic, etc. Experience with and knowledge of independent standards organizations and certification programs such as ISO 14001, ISO 45001. Experience with integration/implementation of EHS programs with newly acquired facilities/businesses is desired. Demonstrated expertise in the successful delivery of outstanding results through effective EHS program development, implementation and management, capability of influence to promote permanent Safety Behaviors and Stop the Work Policy when needed. **Desired Characteristics** Strong "consultant" skills, including the ability to influence and motivate leaders and employees through collaborative engagement and building/maintaining relationships.
