SuperGrid Institute brings together 180 employees of 28 different nationalities who work together within a dynamic environment in the city of Lyon. As an independent research and innovation centre, we are dedicated to developing technologies for the future power transmission system, the “supergrid”, including HVDC & MVDC technologies. **General context** Within the "Control Hardware and Software" team of the **Objectives / missions** He will ensure the coordination of the activities for which he is responsible with R&D engineers from the other sub-programs, the Power Electronics Innovation and System engineer and the Project manager. **Mains activities**: - Develop the control software for power electronics converters: mainly rapid-control prototyping (code generation from Simulink for Speedgoat machines), but also microcontroller (TI C2000 and STM32), and PLC (Programmable Logic Controllers) - Specify and realize HIL (hardware in the loop) tests of the control (system simulated with OPAL-RT machines) - Design of electronic control boards - Circuit simulation, calculation of losses and thermal calculations - Preparation of the validation test program and carrying out the tests. - Writing technical reports **Communication**: - Ensure technical coordination with internal and external customers - Participate in conferences or communication events to present the results of R&D activities - Produce the necessary technical documentation for customers or partners **Project mode organization**: - Plan and organize the activities in agreement with the management - Lead technical meetings related to the activity - Regular project reporting **Results promotion**: - Foster and support initiative for external partnerships - Propose innovations and generate intellectual properties **Technical skills**: - Master (or equivalent) in electrical engineering specialized in power electronics and control - Control of power converters, grid and electric motors - Electronic boards: make diagrams, route and optimize the PCB layout - Digital electronics: select, configure and program microcontrollers or FPGAs - Softwares: Matlab/Simulink (code generation for CPU and FPGA), eCadstar (routing software), LTSpice (circuit simulation), C language (TI CCS, STM32 CUBE IDE), python **Other skills**: - Strong analysis and synthesis spirit - Curiosity and creativity - Teamwork - Autonomy - Problem solving - Relationship skills and reporting - English/French speaking **What we have to offer** You will be joining an institute for energy transition, a promising and stimulating field of activity, - A young, dynamic working environment, - Diverse, international teams (+25 nationalities), - Contribution to meal expenses (company restaurant) - Possibility of home office - Sports club within the company (on-site yoga, football, running, etc.) - Use of self-service company bicycles - CSE, Mutual, Provident Remuneration: according to your experience **Villeurbanne** **Other information** SuperGrid Institute is an equal opportunities employer.
