Internship - tests of High- Power Dc-dc Converter

SuperGrid Institute brings together 180 employees, of 28 different nationalities who work together within a dynamic environment in the city of Lyon. As an independent research and innovation center, we are dedicated to developing technologies for the future power transmission system, the “supergrid”, including HVDC & MVDC technologies.
**General context**
Program “Power Electronics & Converters” addresses power electronic converters for MVDC & HVDC. In particular, we develop AC-DC and DC-DC power converters, medium frequency transformers and high voltage power electronics building blocks.
**Objectives / missions**
The main tasks of this internship are:
- To study and understand the converter operation principle thanks to the system level simulations using Matlab/Simulink
- To test the converter based on a test plan
- To analyze the test results and solve the hardware and software problems
- To write the testing report
Master or engineering school student in the last year of his/her studies. The student must have a good knowledge in electrical engineering (power electronics, semiconductors ). An experience with the Matlab/Simulink software is appreciated.
In order to use our testing platforms, a 4 days safety training will be provide to the trainee. As French is used for this training, the trainee must have a very good level in the French language.
