We’re currently recruiting for a Transport Shift Manager Nights to be based at our site in Widnes. As part of this busy transport operation, you’ll ensure the timely and safe dispatch of drivers on a 4 on 4 off Night shift pattern 19:00 -07:00.
**Pay, benefits and more**:
We’re looking to offer a salary of up to £34,500 per annum. In addition, we offer 20 days holiday as well as the option to buy additional days. **What you’ll do on a typical day**:
- Support the Operations Manager with adherence to all compliance and legal obligations during your shift with a huge emphasis on safety, deputising in their absence
- Assist with executing the daily plan for all deliveries and collections, with a keen eye on resource, root causes for any lates, and close customer communication
- Ensure all process and procedures are followed and that we operate a safe and efficient environment
- Manage the Transport Office and drivers through the dayshift operation.
- Ensure the operation is managed safely.
- Ensure all staff are trained and following company procedures at all times.
- Ensure drivers are dispatched on there allocated time to meet the contract SLA’s.
- Keeping damages to a minimum.Calling breakdown companies for vehicles or trailers.
**What you need to succeed at XPO**:
- It’s important you have exposure of working in a fast-paced environment - no two days will be the same and we need you to think on your feet
- Previous experience supervising and developing a team within a complex transport environment
- Proven experience within transport and a good understanding of compliance and driver hours
- Team building experience.
- Experience in a fast-paced, time critical environment.
- Some transport experience dealing with C+E drivers would be beneficial.
