**Sales Engineer, Europe**

We are scaling up the business worldwide and are looking to add a Sales Engineer to our EMEA sales team.

The Sales Engineer will partner closely with Sales team members to strategize, execute, and assist in the overall sales process by helping potential customers understand Backlight's solution offering through communication of technical information and answering detailed technical questions about our offerings.

What you'll do:

- Assist sales team with driving and winning complex sales opportunities
- Assist sales team with RFI/RFP responses.
- Provide technical assistance in helping to move sales opportunities forward through the sales cycle.
- Where applicable, assist sales in identifying potential partnerships to close gaps that will help win complex opportunities.
- Drive successful POC engagements.

Skills & knowledge you should possess:

- 3+ years of experience supporting sales efforts for a SaaS company in the online video ecosystem.
- Excellent presentation skills
- Skilled at presenting complex solutions to tier 1 and tier 2 customers.
- A proven track record helping sales professionals close high tier and / or complex opportunities.
- Excellent writing skills.
- A team player that takes ownership of their role in helping the sales team achieve their goals.
- Experience with such sales operations tools as Salesforce / CPQ, LinkedIn Navigator, Slack.
- Autonomous and self-motivated.
- Ability to work from a home office environment.
- Advanced professional fluency in both French and English is required.

**Outcomes of the role**:
**By month one**, Conduct standard employee company onbording to Backlight which involves meeting with all team leaders and adjacent team members. Learn about the suite of offerings Backlight Solutions provides and train to be able to provide a sales demonstration. Attend calls to observe how the sales team positions Backlight in the market and get an understanding of the technical areas where support is required.

**By month three**, Gain a detailed understanding of all Backlight offerings from a technical perspective through training with engineering team members and a solutions architect. Start to develop technical diagrams and literature that can be reused and repurposed for sales meetings, RFPs and pitches.

**By month six**, Lead technical sales discussions alongside sales team members and own the responsibility for technical follow-ups with prospects. Partner with Product Managers by submitting detailed product feature requests that outlines market shifts, areas for feature enhancement, and opportunities for innovation based on insights gained with existing customers and prospects.
