Chinese Qualified Contract

Created in 2014 in Paris, CGN EE is an independent power producer and subsidiary of the Chinese State company CGN Group, specialized in low carbon energy (nuclear energy and renewable energy). With over 2.4 GW capacity (Wind and Solar), CGN EE quickly became the renewable energy company with the most rapid growth in Europe and is continuously seeking expand its team. Our goal in the long term is to become a leading player in the renewable energy sector in Europe and Africa. In this prospect, we are seeking an audit and compliance trainee for our legal team.

**Location**: La Défense, France

**You will be tasked to**:
**Contract management and legal documentation**
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts with Chinese counterparties to ensure compliance with both local and international regulations.
- Collaborate with all departments to update key legal documents and policies in response to regulatory changes.
- Translate key legal documents between Chinese and English to facilitate clear communication with stakeholders.

**Legal compliance and risk management**
- Evaluate the effectiveness of legal compliance frameworks across the organization, recommending enhancements where needed.
- Monitor changes in relevant laws and regulations and provide timely updates and implementation guidance across the organization.
- Review and assess company policies, procedures, and contracts to ensure they align with legal standards and best practices.

**Internal audit and governance**
- Lead the internal audit process with a focus on evaluating financial controls, risk management, and adherence to corporate governance frameworks.
- Conduct reviews of projects, including financial and operational audits, ensuring compliance with internal and legal standards.
- Oversee the preparation of audit documentation for internal and external purposes, ensuring accuracy and completeness.

**Interdepartmental coordination**
- Liaise with the parent company and international departments to consolidate, analyze, and present audit and compliance reports.

**Board and compliance reporting**
- Prepare summary reports as required by the parent company, including compliance work reports, board of directors' reports, and accountability reports.
- Assist in the preparation and review of documents related to Board Meetings, ensuring legal and regulatory compliance.

**Profile**:

- Master’s degree in law in reputable Chinese university
- 3-5 years of experience in compliance or related role.
- Excellent Chinese oral and written abilities
- Excellent French English oral and written abilities
- Additional law degree or certification in an English or French university is a plus.

**Interpersonal Skills**:

- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to navigate complex legal and audit frameworks.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, especially for preparing and presenting findings and recommendations.
- High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Proactive and solution-oriented, with a strong sense of responsibility.
- Comfortable working in a multicultural, international environment with cross-functional teams.

**Technical Skills**:

- Office 365 with a good command of Word, Excel and PPT.
- Solid understanding of internal audit methodologies, risk management frameworks, and corporate governance principles.
- Knowledge of contract management systems, legal research tools, and regulatory compliance frameworks.
- Familiarity with ERP systems or financial reporting tools is a plus.
- General insights on the renewable energy sector and its legal framework is a plus.
