**About us**: The _Imagine_ Institute (IHU, ‘Institut Hospitalo-Universitaire’, INSERM U1163) is a recent research structure located within Necker Children’s Hospital (Paris). Its research labs are focused on understanding the molecular mechanisms of genetic diseases that affect the adaptive and innate immune systems, the skeletal dysplasia, the nervous system, stem cell differentiation, kidney physiology, metabolism, etc. **Mission**: **Research project**: Activated PI3K delta syndromes (APDS type 1 and type 2) are combined immunodeficiencies with variable clinical manifestations even among the same family. Clinical trials treating APDS type 1 and type 2 patients with p110 delta inhibitor indicate a great potential of this tailored therapeutic treatment for these patients. In this project we aim to identify novel marker for increased PI3K signaling to monitor treatment efficiency and to characterize possible disease association of genetic variants with uncertain significance identified in the APDS type 1 and type 2 associated genes, PIK3CD and PIK3R1, respectively. **Position details**: We offer a challenging research project in a stimulating interdisciplinary environment ; - Starting date September/October ; - Occasional remote (work mainly in the laboratory/office). **Profile**: **Your profile**: - Highly motivated scientist (PhD) ; - Experience < 6 months ; - Creative and willing to take the initiative in the development and implementation of the project ; - Strong interpersonal skills ; - Solid background in immunology and cell biology ; - Self-motivation and ability to work independently are vital ; - Additional experiences in handling of blood samples, flow cytometry and RNA single cell analysis are considered a plus, but excellent applicants eager to learn these techniques will be also considered.
