Internship - Design and Mechanical Justification for Main Reusable Stage

MaiaSpace is a European space tech company, designing, manufacturing and operating competitive and sustainable solutions for space mobility. Our aim is to successfully design and test a cost-effective and reusable mini-launch vehicle by 2026.
We are seeking a motivated and proactive student to join our **Main Reusable Stage** team, where you will contribute to the improvement of the main structures (Multi Engine Bay accommodating the three engines, Cryogenic tank) design and its mechanical justification.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Analyse design improvements of structures in order to gain mass, cost or improve on fabricability & industrialization such as (examples)
- Alternative design of the Multi Engine Bay upper module and tank skirt
- Change in materials, junction design, assembly technology, etc.
- Analyse design improvements for the connection between the bulkhead and the tank
- Contribute to the adaptation of the design as needed depending on the analysis results
- Provide support for mechanical tests and exploitation if any
- Perform mechanical justification analysis as needed
- Tools: Solidworks, CATIA, PDM, ANSYS
**Preferred Skills and Experience**:
- Strong foundation in mechanical design and mechanical static analysis.
- Experience with Solidworks, CATIA, ANSYS
- Experience working in multinational and interdisciplinary teams.
- Self-motivated, autonomous, and ready to take initiative.
- Eager to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
- Humble and pragmatic approach to problem-solving.
- Good command of English; proficiency in French is a plus.
- Passion for advancing the commercial space industry in Europe.
**Qualifications**:
- Currently enrolled as a master’s student in a relevant engineering discipline (e.g., Space Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, etc.).

Our newly acquired office space at La Defense is located within the heart of Europe’s largest purpose built business and commercial district with easy access to public transport. Also, we have a second location integration site in Vernon (27). Regular trips between the two locations are to be expected. These displacements may be extended to Kourou when the time comes. The company allows home office when it is compatible with your responsibilities.
