Support revenue and growth for the EB Financing - Captive EB Services business within Aon Global Benefits at a global level, through delivery of underwriting consultancy to clients.
The Head of Underwriting will be responsible for delivering policy underwriting consultancy to Aon’s fast growing multinational customer base and will report into Aon’s Global Leader EB Financing Strategies.
In this role, this person will oversee (within Aon’s helix reporting structure) a team of 3 regional underwriters, as well as guide them in their further technical development.

**What The Day Will Look Like**:
**Underwriting & Risk Structuring**
- Lead the development and governance of underwriting strategy across global EB captive programs (e.g., medical, life, disability, stop-loss).
- Assist clients into integrating Health & Wellbeing initiatives into their portfolio captive underwriting strategy
- Design and implement captive reinsurance/protection structures, including quota share, specific and aggregate stop-loss and CAT Re Cover
- Serve as technical guide during feasibility assessments, pricing model development, and renewal cycles.
**Captive Implementation & Operational Excellence**:
- Lead the underwriting and operational execution of captive implementations, coordinating cross-functional teams for successful onboarding.
- Be a great partner with fronting networks ensuring technical excellence with effective treaty structures and regulatory compliance.
- Oversee workflows for underwriting, financial reporting, and ongoing program operations.
**Client Advisory, Sales Enablement & Retention**:
- Support the sales team in securing new mandates through structuring input, technical presentations, and RFP support.
- Act as a senior advisor to clients, delivering actionable insights and maintaining long-term relationships.
- Ensure high client retention through proactive portfolio monitoring, renewal strategy, and client satisfaction management.
**Reinsurance Reporting & Tool Enhancement**:
- Lead the evolution of our reinsurance financial reporting capabilities, working with sales, account management and data analytics teams to ensure accuracy and transparency
- Enhance the firm’s underwriting and reporting tool, helping define functional requirements and guiding ongoing development to support scalable and insightful reporting across clients and regions.
**Leadership & Market Positioning**:
- Lead and develop a team of underwriters and analysts, promoting a high-performance, client-centric culture.
- Contribute to internal standard processes, knowledge sharing, and product evolution.
- Represent the firm at industry events and through thought leadership around technical topics
**Skills And Experience That Will Lead To Success**:
- Profound knowledge and technical understanding of Employee Benefits underwriting and processes
- Deep familiarity with EB fronting networks
- Proven experience crafting reinsurance and protection structures for EB captives
- Passionate about facilitating junior colleagues career development (training, support, people management)
- Experienced team leader (ideally with teams spread over multiple geographical locations) with focus on collaboration and personal as well as team development
- Ability to lead cross-functional teams and interface with sales, actuarial, and operational stakeholders
- Bachelor’s degree required; actuarial, finance, or related fields preferred. ASA/FSA, CEBS, or CPCU credentials are a plus
