General information **City**:Paris **Country**:France **Creation Date**:13-Jun-2025 **Employment Type**:Permanent **Employment Type**:Full time **Ref #**:1234571609 - Description & Requirements - Role Title: Cyber underwriter - Department: Financial Lines - Team: Cyber - Location: Paris - Type: Permanent About the Role: - Be actively part of the renewal of our existing portfolio and be deeply involved in our LSM Cyber underwriting strategy for growing through alternative broader new product - About the Department & Team: - The FL department is made up of 15 underwriters spilt into 4 sub-teams: D&O Large Accounts, D&O MM accounts, Financial Institutions, Cyber led by Maxime Chassang. - The FL department is leading by Françoise Mari Key Responsibilities: - You work largely autonomously on business-as-usual work within process guidelines, but under supervision on more unusual or project work - You underwrite policies within your underwriting authority. You make decisions on whether to underwrite business by making analytical, data-driven decisions based on data & information provided. This includes pricing the risk; however, how this is done varies across different parts of GRS (e.g., usage of models, interactions with Actuaries and Data Science teams). - In parts of GRS more likely to underwrite complex/unusual policies - or those of high individual line size - the policies you assess will include those of some complexity. In parts of GRS where complexity and line size differs little between policies (e.g., GRS NA Middle Market), the volume of policies could be described as moderate. - You manage your own portfolio of brokers/agents & clients. You leverage your market presence & knowledge to bring in new business where possible, and act as a representative for Liberty. - You contribute ideas for product development & participate in development & execution. - You contribute to team projects (e.g., around process / tool improvement) - You maintain a strong market presence, including established trading relationships with agents / brokers. You constantly look to strengthen these relationships & develop new ones - You understand the implications of relevant legislation and regulation on your work - You collaborate effectively across teams, stakeholders, and partners (e.g., UW Support, Claims, Actuarial, Directors of Underwriting in GRS North America) - You mentor junior underwriters & new hires (not as a line manager) - You may analyse your department's portfolio and make suggestions for development - You may recognise and communicate emerging trends of exposures within your line of business expertise Skills and Experience: - Comfortable in commercial negotiations, presentations, roadshows... - Requires knowledge o f Cyber perils underwriting (exposure assessment), - Requires extensive relevant work experience gained in the SPC insurance business. - The ability to effectively interact with T 1 brokers is also required. - Strong skills in verbal, written communications and organizational areas (workflow optimization, system design) - Strong negotiation, analytical, proposal for decision-making skills also required About Liberty Specialty Markets (LSM) Liberty Specialty Markets is part of Global Risk Solutions and the broader Liberty Mutual Insurance Group, which is a leading global insurer.
