Global Trade Compliance Specialist with French

**The Global Trade Compliance Specialist **will support the import and export compliance needs of clients, such as answering broker requests, classifying items according to Harmonized Tariff, researching import and export requirements such as Partner Government Agency restrictions, coordinating timely shipment clearance, and auditing entries. The GTC Specialist will work together with a team and under the guidance of a Licensed Customs Broker to meet clients’ needs while also ensuring compliance with governmental regulations.

**Responsibilities**
- Request the classification for customs clearances if needed
- Check the shipping documents (customs required information) from handoff notification
- Request the relevant corrections
- Provide relevant customs instructions to the customs broker if any specific or out of standard process
- Follow the emergencies with the broker and with the consignee
- Participate in the weekly call with the customs broker
- Prepare the intrastat reports (Arrival and dispatch - Sourcing flows)
- Sent reports to GE Tax Team for submission
- Escalate any requests out of standard process to customs leader
- Mandatory tracking report up to date for IPR (entry, Serial number, post entry)
- Collect, report and archive the COO evidence from suppliers
- Archive customs documents per established process
- Contribute to new processes and projects (on the administrative tasks)
- Manage client’s customs consultants and customs brokers to ensure compliant, efficient, and cost-effective entry of goods. Establish and monitor service providers’ performance against clearly defined Key Performance Indicator’s (KPI’s)
- Develop and maintain customized compliance programs and processes specific to client need
- Continuously evaluate current processes and recommend relevant changes or improvements to increase efficiency/productivity
