- We are now looking for an **Export and Compliance Assistant** to join our Marine team driving compliance in defense projects. The position is permanent and the preferred location is in our office in Nantes France

**What you will be doing** As an **Export and Compliance Assistant**, your work will focus on these responsibilities:

- Maintain up-to-date records and generate export-related reports.
- Compile and organize accurate and up-to-date documentation of export activities.
- Verify document compliance and coordinate export control teams across different companies in the Wärtsilä group.
- Transmit appropriate documentation to internal and external clients and suppliers.
- Detect non-compliance issues and forward them for processing.
- Participate in the continuous improvement of export control procedures and the Internal Compliance Program (ICP).
- Participate in compliance audits and employee training on export control regulations and procedures.

**To be successful in this role we expect you to have**:

- Good understanding of the supply chain organization
- An interest in the Wärtsilä products and how we meet our customer’s needs
- Ability to ramp up on compliance topics such as export control regulations, liaise with relevant authorities (ie : government agencies)
- Fluent communication in English, both written and spoken.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to coordinate multicultural teams.
- High level of organization and consistency.
- An appetite for learning new things and adapting to rapidly changing geopolitical landscape

**Education and Experience**:

- Bachelor's degree (BAC +3) in International Trade with successful experience in compliance and/or quality or significant experience in the international industrial field.
- Previous experience in export control or the defense sector would be a plus.

**Ce que vous allez faire**
- En tant que Export and Compliance Assistant, votre travail se concentrera sur les responsabilités suivantes:

- Préparer les demandes de licences d'exportation et suivre leur approbation et renouvellement.
- Tenir à jour les registres et générer des rapports relatifs aux exportations.
- Compiler et organiser une documentation précise et à jour des activités d'exportation.
- Vérifier la conformité des documents et coordonner les équipes de contrôle des exportations à travers les différentes entreprises du groupe Wärtsilä.
- Transmettre la documentation appropriée aux clients et fournisseurs internes et externes.
- Détecter les problèmes de non-conformité et les transmettre pour traitement.
- Participer à l'amélioration continue des procédures de contrôle des exportations et du Internal Compliance Program (ICP)(PIC).
- Participer aux audits de conformité et à la formation des employés sur les réglementations et procédures de contrôle des exportations.
